I finally broke down and bought an Amoeba headlamp from Jay (FIFO club from Denver). Jay hooked me up with a last minute build last weekend and even met me at Johnson's corner to deliver the goods so I could ride Tuesday morning. The light is very nice and comparable in brightness and beam to my old Niterider HID lamp. The nice part is the lamp and battery weigh about as much as the old headlamp was by itself. Holy batman, tomorrow is October 1st. We need to figure out when everyone can take a trip to Fruita or Moab this Fall. I have trailday at Bobcat on October 18th that we need to help with and then a college visit with my son on October 26th. The best days for me are looking like they will be in early November. How does the weekend of November 7th to 9th sound? The weekend of Halloween is also open for me, but may not be a good option for those with little trick-or-treaters (munchkins). -Doug… Continue

Steve and I raced the Valley Point to point race in Winter Park on Saturday. I knew it was going to be a long day when Steve passed me before halfway and he started 3 minutes later than me. Oh well, I had fun and Steve edged up toward the podium with 4th in his agre bracket. As my first season riding Sport class (with a bunch of fast 40 somethings) I've decided to start counting how many people I beat in my age group instead of how many people beat me.
