Mountain Biking, Fort Collins, Colorado... early :)

I'm now about to start my second and final day at the 2008 Interbike expo.... blogging last night just didn't happen as we were invited (Daniel, Arnaud from CGN France) by ControlTech for dinner at the Venetian. Tough. Then they forced me to go visit the town ...

AnyHO, Interbike is just huge. I managed to get lost several times and my head was spinning the whole time - Around 9:30 am, I was walking by a large booth with a huge waiting line. I decided to move around the booth and actually go in the front to finally see that Mr Lance Armstrong was signing autograph for all those people waiting in line.....

poor guy (lance) signing all those autographs must be just mind numbing..... But i guess he is back working so, he must like that.
I then ended going around and look for unusual cool products I could see and capture with my mighty camera. I visited among other things the booth of Titus, Pivot Cycles, Rocky Mountain, Maverick, Shimano, SRAM, Gates (chain belt), Ellsworth....

I think that the most innovative products I discovered yesterday where the HammerSchmidt from TruvaTiv (SRAM) and the "Carbon Drive" from Gates.

The HammerSchmidt is that crankset that only one front ring but has gear system inside - You can shift between 22 and 39 equivalent effortlessly... the chain stays on the same ring.

Larry (from Mountain High Cyclery) showing the HamerShmidt on a new Niner 5.5" of travel.

The "Carbon Drive" a belt use on Harley Davidson for their engines. They decided to break into the cycling market.... no need any lube anymore, the belt does NOT extends and provide incredible stiffness to the bike.

Finally, I was struck by the amount of electric bike related equipment or electric bikes. Among other thing the product from Electric Motion - This bike self charge itself and you don't need to pedal..... you can also ride a 20-30mph with it.... we need one of those!!!

I also tried to amuse myself with some interesting helmets as you can see here....

I'm now heading back to the Expo and try to meet several other brand owner or CEOs for Extanz ... If you want to see the whole lot of pictures, please go HERE....

wish me luck
cheers
yann

Well Yann, what does your new frame look like? You couldn't have escaped Interbike empty handed.

Ask the SRAM guys if they are a publicly held company. I own stock in Shimano but I'd like to own SRAM stock but I can't figure out if they have stock.

I know. Weird request but I'm looking for good stocks in a down market.
